OSAWELL Air+ privacy policy

Applies to the OSAWELL Air+ app and its service. Effective date: 2026-09-23.

Who we are

OSAWELL Air+ is provided by ShareSmile Biotech Co., Ltd., the company responsible for OSAWELL ("we"). The app is for people who use an OSAWELL oral appliance; signing in is for adults (see Age). Questions and requests: [email protected].

Age

Signing in and sharing records is for adults (18 or older). We do not knowingly receive records from minors; if you believe a minor has shared records, write to us and we will delete them.

Using the app without an account

You can use OSAWELL Air+ without signing in. Then nothing leaves your phone: your recordings' figures and your night logs stay on the phone.

When you sign in

Signing in with Apple or Google creates an account at OSAWELL. At that moment we receive your account identifier from Apple or Google and, if the provider shares it, your e-mail address. We receive no records until you agree to the in-app consent text. If you do not agree, the account stays empty.

What we receive after you agree

• Your snoring figures for each recorded night: when the recording started and ended and in which time zone, how long it lasted, how often it was interrupted, snoring time, number of snoring episodes, loudness relative to your room, a 5-minute timeline, and the version of the analysis that produced them.
• Your night logs, as you filled them in: whether you wore your appliance and for how long, comfort, discomfort, reasons for not wearing it, how you slept, what a bed partner reported, and your notes.
• The app version, phone model and language.
• Records you made before you agreed (as a guest), once you agree.

What we never receive

• Audio. Sound is analysed on your phone as it is heard and is not saved anywhere, not even on the phone.
• Data from Apple Health or Health Connect. The app only displays it.
• Your height, weight, birth year or nickname.
• Advertising identifiers. The app has no advertising and no third-party analytics.

What we use it for

• To keep a record of how your snoring and appliance use develop over time.
• To improve the product.
• To produce statistics that are aggregated and de-identified: groups of people, never individuals, and any figure based on fewer than 10 people is left out. OSAWELL may use such statistics when talking to insurers and other partners about oral appliances. Insurers do not receive your individual data.

We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.

Who sees it

Authorised staff of ShareSmile Biotech Co., Ltd., inside the company. Staff normally work with a random ID instead of your name or e-mail. Nobody outside the company receives records about you as an individual.

We use service providers that process data for us and only on our instructions: our hosting provider (Railway, servers in the United States) and Cloudflare (network and access protection). Apple and Google handle sign-in under their own privacy policies. These providers necessarily see your device's IP address to deliver the service and may keep it in short-lived technical logs; we do not store it with your records.

Where it is stored

Our servers are in the western United States; backups are kept by the same hosting provider. If you live elsewhere, your data is transferred there and protected as described in this policy.

How long we keep it

Until you withdraw consent or delete your account, and at most 5 years after your last upload; after that, the records are deleted automatically. Deleted data can remain in backups for up to 89 days, after which the backups themselves expire. Your account (identifier and e-mail) is kept until you delete it.

Your choices

• Withdraw consent at any time in the app under Profile > Account & data sharing: we delete the records received from your account and receive no new ones. Your account (identifier and e-mail) remains until you delete it.
• Delete your account in the app under Profile > Account & data sharing: the account and everything we received from it are deleted, and so is everything on that phone. Without the app, see how to ask for deletion.
• Access or correction: write to [email protected] from the e-mail address linked to your account.

Security

Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). The service uses the minimum database rights it needs, staff access is limited to named people, and every look at personal data through the admin pages is logged.

Not a medical device

OSAWELL Air+ is not a medical device. Its snoring figures come from sound analysis on your phone and have not been validated against a clinical sleep study.

Changes

If we change what we receive or how we use it, the app asks for your consent again before sending anything under the new terms.
